Freedom On Fire Nominated for Three 2024 News & Documentary Emmys

We are excited to share that Netflix’s Freedom On Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom, a project produced and edited by MakeMake’s own Will Znidaric, has received three News & Documentary Emmy Award nominations. The film is nominated in the categories of Best Documentary, Outstanding Music Composition: Documentary, and Outstanding Sound: Documentary.

Instead of battles and violence, Freedom On Fire focuses on the humanity of those enduring conflict in Ukraine. We previously talked with Will about his experience producing and editing this documentary, how the team managed emotions around heavy topics, and how they ultimately captured the Ukrainian spirit — read his interview about the making of the film here.
